RF Microneedling
RF Microneedling uses a fine needles to create microwounds, or channels, in the skin. This triggers the production of capillaries, elastin, and collagen. The procedure also uses radiofrequency waves in combination with the microneedling. The needles release radiofrequency into the channels created by the microneedling, causing additional damage, which further enhances collagen production. The skin grows back healthier and smoother.
RF Microneedling can target common skin concerns such as:
-
appearance of large pores
-
scars from injury or surgery
-
loose, sagging skin
-
cellulite
At Rise Medical Aesthetics our Medical Aestheticians prepare your skin by cleansing the treatment area and applying a topical anesthetic about 1 hour before the procedure. The anesthetic numbs the area so you won’t feel pain, as the needles go deeper than Microneedling with the Dp4 pen and cause more sensitivity. The procedure takes 10 to 20 minutes and then topical serums will be applied to treatment area to promote healing and skin repair. There may be some mild swelling and redness for 24 - 48 hours post procedure, but you can resume your normal skin care routine and make up application 24 hours after RF Microneedling.
You’ll see optimal results 3 to 6 months after your RF Microneedling. The exact time frame depends on the type and severity of your condition. In most cases, you’ll need at least four sessions. This also depends on what you’re treating. For example, if you have moderate acne scars, you’ll need about 3 - 4 treatments. Bigger scars and stretch marks may need
5 - 6 treatments. These sessions will be done every 3 to 8 weeks. This lets your skin heal between treatments.
After the initial set of treatments, the results will last about 1 year. It’s recommended to have a touch-up session once a year to maintain your desired results.
